Federal Depository

The Mount Vernon Public Library is a partial depository of U.S. federal documents. The depository’s mission, as part of the Central Library, is to provide government information to the population-at-large of Westchester County.

Access is provided to federal documents in a wide range of subject areas, with emphasis on Education, Health, Social Sciences, Law, Economics, Business, Government and the Census.

Although the majority of the documents are on paper and fiche, there are also documents available on CD-ROM and on-line.

    The Fresco in the Exhibition Room (Rotunda) were executed by the local artist Louise Brann. They were inspired by the 15th century Gobelin Tapestry series "Lady and the Unicorn" that resides in the Cluny museum. The four panels created between January 1936 and October 1937 include "Autumn","Education","Occupation","Winter", "Spring", and "Summer".
