The Friends of The Mount Vernon Public Library is a non-profit, volunteer organization founded in 1986. Its mission is to promote community support for the educational, cultural and recreational activities of the library.
We contribute to the library’s development through membership fees, donations, book sales and the efforts of our volunteers.
What we do
• Provide funding for library programs
• Sponsor special events such as the Literary Competition and special family and adult programs
• Sponsor museum pass program
• Sponsor children’s programs and events
• Fund special purchases for the library
• Support staff recognition and education with modest grants
