As the Library commemorates 130 Years of Service, we honor a legacy rooted in freedom education and an enduring vision of “the DREAM” for future generations.
Presenting a theatrical staged reading from GODMOTHER PRODUCTIONS’ TELL IT! Series of Black Historical Fiction playlets entitled SLAVERY, FREEDOM, and GLORY (ode to FREDERICK DOUGLASS) written by Ave Maria Cross directed by Smokey Stevens.
Smokey Stevens dramatizes excerpts from the speeches of FREDERICK DOUGLASS. Gary Vincent utilizes poetry, rap & rhyme as counterpoint within this showcase performance that highlights
the lasting impact of the words of FREDERICK DOUGLASS.
