Paws for Reading is a program that provides a relaxed and “dog-friendly” atmosphere, which allows students to practice the skill of reading. It allows children to read aloud to a therapy dog in order to improve reading and communication skills. Children read individually to trained therapy pets (and their handlers) where they can feel comfortable, confident, and have fun!

Our Therapy Dogs International team, Kimberly and her dog Bella, look forward to meeting you!

Pick from a selection of library books or bring your own.

For independent readers kindergarten and up. Registration is required. Call 914-668-1840, ext 211 or come by the Children’s Reference Desk to register.
