
Black History Month Celebration
Dr. Jamaal A. Bowman, who served as U.S. Representative for New York State’s 16th Congressional District from January 3, 2021 to January 3, 2025.
The first black, and first person of color elected to New York’s 16th District in Congress’s 235 year history, Dr. Bowman is generously donating his Congressional Papers, artifacts, personal memorabilia to the Mount Vernon Public Library.
In celebration of Black History Month, this event will memorialize the Library’s acceptance and gratitude.
Respectively, the Congressman’s Collection will be made available to the public by on or about the year of 2026 pending curation.
