Meet AUTHOR DR. PETER W.SHERRILL

Dr. Peter W. Sherrill’s story is one of perseverance, faith, and an unyielding commitment to justice. A great-great-grandson of former slaves, he emerged from the hardships of his ancestors to defy the odds stacked against him. Born into adversity, inherited from his ancestors who worked on the harsh cotton-fields of Belvedere Plantation in South Carolina to the struggles of the Mount Vernon, New York, projects, he witnessed firsthand the barriers of racial and economic inequality.

Despite these challenges, his mother’s unwavering faith in God and determination paved a different path for him. Excelling academically, he defied statistics, earning a Bachelor of Science in Management and Economics from Jacksonville University, later achieving a Master’s in Public Administration and an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters.

With a career spanning 25 years in Corporate America, including a landmark racial discrimination lawsuit against Texaco, and years in government service specializing in Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Dr. Sherrill has dedicated his life to breaking barriers. A prolific author, political advocate, and thought leader, he continues to challenge the status quo.

Now retired, Dr. Sherrill focuses on international development, serving as Chair of the African Rights Corporation and holding leadership roles in global institutions. His journey is a testament to resilience, faith, and the courage to stand for what is right—no matter the cost.
