MRATT Young Adult Film Production Program
The MRATT: The History of African Americans in the Film Industry will consist of Young Adults in the City of Mount Vernon who will learn the History of Blacks in film and learn how to read, write, and develop a film script into a (10-15)-minute short film. The students will learn about noted African Americans such as: Oscar Micheaux, James Weldon Johnson, Robert Cole, James Van Der Zee, and many other noted photographers, actors, and musicians from an experienced personality in Multi-Media. This program will take place virtually via Zoom and in the physical building of Mount Vernon Public Library for twelve weeks. The participants will be between the ages of 14-19 and will work in different session learning groups to how to create a film treatment outline, film script, and create a film 4K Cameras. Participants will also learn Digital Marketing skills to assist in promoting their final projects. The library will have a Mini-Film Festival for the Mount Vernon community.
