Patron Story #2

The reason that I visited this library at all in the first place was the free internet.  The service was cut at home and I was in the middle of transitioning to a new internet service provider. I spent many hours here addressing my insatiable need to be online. Nevertheless, even after having service restored back at home, I continued to visit the Mount Vernon Public Library. Although I read only electronic books on my Kindle, the movie, audiobook and music section have much to offer. The library is clean and quiet and provides a haven to focus, study and relax.  After some review, I have found resources available that are in fact incredible. The library offers a free premium membership to Lynda.com – this service means the world to me, a graphic artist, videographer, photographer and media specialist. Likewise the library offers a free Hoopla, Overdrive, Zinio and Flipster account. Paying for such services would amount to hundreds of dollars a month rather than just sign up free at the libraries website. Bottom line is that I consider this place a treasure, it has certainly helped me get much work done.
