Born American Dominican in the Bronx, NYC Raised in Spanish Harlem, a.k.a “El Barrio”.

I Attended Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics High School. I then graduated and ventured towards college at SUNY Farmingdale. Where I presumed I would focus on my studies as a Mechanical Engineer. I managed to receive my degree, but I kind of knew I loved arts more, just didn’t do anything about it. I didn’t study it in any school because I didn’t think i should. Though I had a real passion for getting lost in the creation of the artist. Enjoying works of arts from artists like Dali, Picasso, Degas and Modigliani to name a few.

It wasn’t until I moved to Mount Vernon, NY, in my early 30’s, after many, many moves around the 5 boroughs and other cities in Westchester County, when I decided to pick up a brush and dabble with some acrylic paint on my very first canvas that I created called “El Paraiso”, which was done after my first trip to DR and Hawaii back in 2005. I later experienced more of my artsy roots from my mother’s father, mi abuelo, when I traveled to Spain in 2019. Which allowed me to create a poem about LATIN AMERICAN. It goes“.
