The library has always been an important part of my life: as a student, as a parent, as a teacher.  As as student it has been invaluable in permitting me to access unlimited information in its collections and through its inter-library loan programs.  Librarians have been appreciated for their knowledge of materials and how to access materials.   As a parent my daughter and I explored extensive children’s book collections together and with guidance of the children’s librarian.  The library read-aloud programs and other children’s programs exposed my daughter to the world of learning.  She also enjoyed craft fun activities and, as a teen, learning about the computer.  And, as a teacher, I was able to access unlimited materials to share with students for lessons and especially for school projects, such as intensive study of African Americans and their contributions to society during Black History Month.
