Meet the Author: Kent Washington
Born in New Rochelle, Kent Washington made history by becoming the first American to play professional basketball behind the Iron Curtain. His memoir tells the story of his coming of age in Westchester, playing basketball at Southampton College in Long Island and taking Poland by storm when he played professional basketball for the Polish team. His career is the subject of a film called The Wizard of Harlem (Czarodziej z Harlemu), and his popularity in Poland was dubbed Kentomania by the Polish press.
